Are Adolescent Males Confused When It Comes To Flirting?

According to an article by NBCnews.com, young men are becoming increasingly confused by flirting, resorting to crass and sexually aggressive behaviour. The NBC piece states that young men will engage in this sexually aggressive behaviour and claim that they don’t know any better when this behaviour causes offense.

Examples of such behaviour cited by the article include a text message from a boy to a girl her like which said: “I want my dick in my mouth…will you at least be my girlfriend?” What a way to break the ice. Boys sending unsolicited pictures of themselves naked was also an issue. According to the author of the article, these boys just think they are ‘goofing around, flirting’ when they act this way.

But, this NBC report does not mean that all adolescent boys are behaving in inappropriate and disrespectful ways towards girls and the ones that do are still young and have time to be taught better ways.
