Flirting can be difficult at the best of times – you’re never sure what to do with your hands, do you have visible sweat patches because it feels like it is suddenly very hot, and is there any remnants of the tuna you had for lunch lingering on your breath? If you think that is awkward, how on earth do you flirt with nerdy guys?

You don’t want to scare them away, and the nerdy guy is quite like the meerkat – sticks with its own kind and cute, yet easily startled. Luckily for us girls the nerd has gone mainstream, you just need to brush up on your nerd knowledge to get some conversation topics that won’t have him scuttling back Dungeons & Dragons.

Here are a few suggestions…

• The TV show, ‘Game of Thrones’ is the nerd’s greatest pleasure and thanks to the appearance of Sean Bean, and a host of other hunks, most girls have gave it a watch. Ask him who is favourite character is and things should go easily from there…

• It’s a safe bet that your nerdy guy is a fan of at least one space-based TV show or movie. Ask him who was the better captain, Pickard or Kirk…I bet he will have an opinion on that.

• Comic books and/or Manga are his bibles (and best friends). Ask him what his favourite screen adaptation, or which one did he hate.

• There is a chance that he lives most of his life through computer role playing games. As him over for a game of World of Warcraft, or similar…it’s an easy way to get him into your room.

And that should help your flirt with nerdy guys, trap them in a geeky tractor beam.
