To Flirt or Not to Flirt?
Is flirting cheating? It is a question that surely troubles anyone in a relationship that finds themselves tempted to engage in a playful banter with an attractive colleague, friend or acquaintance.
It’s important to remember that just because you are flirting with someone outside the relationship, doesn’t mean that you have the intention of taking things further (if you are, there is clearly a problem within your relationship that needs addressing). However, before you decide that flirting is harmless, you should be aware that your partner may not feel the same.
If your partner is insecure or has low self-esteem, they are unlikely to be happy if you are flirting with every attractive person you meet. Maybe you should resign yourself to flirting only with your partner and get your excitement that way, or find a way to sort out their insecurity and jealousy issues.
If flirting makes you feel good and there are no partner issues, then be sure that you are not pushing the flirting too far. Harmless flirting is just a kind of happy conversation, where you tease an you laugh andĀ you just have fun, you have no intentions of talking dirty or initiating any kind of touching…in most relationships this would be considered OK as long as you are putting as much effort into having fun with your partner.
