Is Love Blind After All? Find Out With Paperbag Speed Dating
Many of us have wondered if love is blind – when your in love, do you only see the good and your love as the most wonderful person in the world. But is love literally blind? A new dating trend has emerged that seeks to answer that question once and for all.
An event launched at London’s British Science Museum last week with the aim of getting to know someone’s personality before seeing their face. But how do they achieve this? I hear you ask. Well simple really, the participants place a paper bag over their head, in what has been called as the ‘thinking person’s Tinder’.
It’s all about ditching the shallow attitudes and instead connecting with a person through their personality rather than how they look. Paper bag speed dating was conceived by the London-based Loveflutter.com, who have also a smartphone app with the motto #SayNoToShallow.
According to those at the event, it was a bunch of fun; 24-year-old Jacques from London said: “It was a really good laugh. It wasn’t as materialistic as normal speed dating and you actually get to know their personalities.”
To get the conversation starter, each participant wrote an interesting personal fact or funny comment on their paper bags. So, is this the future of speed dating? Well the event is set to be held in New York City in the autumn, so it may just in fact spread. Imagine all the time you will save making yourself look perfect.
