Evolutionary Psychologists Reveal that Flirting is Essential to the Human Races Survival
According to evolutionary psychologists the human race would not have progressed if it was not for flirting, as it is an essential courtship device. It turns out that flirting is a natural human instinct, much like the need to eat, drink, sleep and mate. It is something that is universal across all cultures – although flirting may be different across countries – and it is an important part of human interaction. We humans are unlikely to have made it to reprouction (i.e. mating) without it and since it is so important to our survival we are genetically programmed to do it – some more than others, am I right?
A lot of the flirting we do is done subconsciously, without us even realising we are doing it. According to research shows that around 55% of flirting is done via body language, 38% is done with tone of voice and only 7% of flirting is done with what we actually say. So get working on that seductive tone and body language of yours to get your flirt on.
However, not all flirting has sex as the utimate goal – studies have revealed that lots of people flirt with no intention of having sexual relations – it is doe simply to boost feelings of seld esteem and to reinforce friendships. We have all been a little flirtatious with a friend because it is fun and somehow makes you feel closer to your chum.
Flirting is not just for the free and single; some pyschologists believe that is has an important place within marriages too, and I’m not talking about flirting with your spouse – it’s a bit of the extra-marital flirting that can add some zing to a marriage. However, the foundation of the relationship has to be strong for this to work, otherwise it may lead to feelings of mistrust and jealousy. If the relationship is strong, seeing your spouse be flirted with will help you to see them not only as your partner but as a sexy and desirable person.
So, there you have it, flirting is essential to the continued survival of the human race. If you needed an excuse to do it, there is not going to be a better one than that.
